Texas Hold’em can be a really fun game once you get to know the rules. There are many moving parts in the game that can be difficult to keep track of, but the fundamentals are easy to understand and you will get more familiar with the strategy as you play.
Know a Strong Hand When You See One
One problem many new players have is simply understanding what is and is not a strong hand. If you start out the game with a pair of face cards in your hand, that’s great news. However, suited cards are also a good place to be. Try not to settle for a less than great hand unless you are really good at bluffing.
Conceal Your Strength
If you do have a strong hand, don’t be overly aggressive. If you scare everyone else out of playing, then your winnings will be stunted. Instead, stay relaxed and play slow. Don’t advertise your strength, so your neighbors will feel comfortable continuing to bet before you reveal your hand.
